Original linocut on Japon paper. Hand signed by the artist with dedication "À mon très cher ami Guillaume Apollinaire, Gino Severini 1916" in pencil, lower right. Also annotated "Epreuve d'essai" in pencil, lower left.   A rare proof, aside from the numbered edition of 15. Originally printed for the Paris magazine "Sic" n.8-10, in the August-October 1916 edition. The print appeared with the erroneous inscription, "Le premier bois de Gino Severini" (The first woodcut by Gino Severini) at the top of the page and "La Modiste", lower center.
