Original lithograph printed on Japon paper. Signed in the stone with Lautrec's monogram upper left. From the deluxe edition of "Lautrec" by Théodore Duret, published by Bernheim-Jeune in 1920. The book from which this particular lithograph was pulled is numbered "66/100" aside from the edition of 100 which was printed on Arches wove paper. Image size: 7 1/2" x 5 9/16", sheet size: 10 1/4" x 7 7/8" This work is a reduced impression of the coloured programme for Émile Fabre's comedy "L'Argent". The two figures depicted are that of Henriot and Arquillière who played Monsieur and Madame Reynard. The absence of modelling in the figures and the positioning of the place-settings brings to mind Toulouse-Lautrec's famous "Reine de Joie" poster. |
