Dimensions: unframed: 20" x 11 5/8", framed: 15 1/2" x 19 1/4" Born in Milan, Santagostino was a well-known Italian industrialist and a self-taught artist who passionately dedicated himself to painting. He exhibited his work for the first time in an art exhibition in San Remo where he received a silver medal. He regularly entered his work in exhibitions in Milan and starting in 1928, in the Salone Della Permanente in Rome. The majority of Santagostino's paintings are held by his direct descendants, but some are in private collections. The Modern Art Museum of Milan possesses several of his landscapes. (A. M.
